I don't know much about the smoking ban issue. I don't smoke, but I don't care whether people smoke or not (I live with two stoners and I don't think a smoking ban would stop them from filling my lungs with second hand marijuana). So when I go out I don't really notice whether the pub or club I'm in has banned it or not, and whether that's because the goverment have made them. I got involved in a smoking ban conversation nonetheless though, as I think that smoking is outlawed in Scotland and banned in Ireland or something. Anyway they started going around in circles, one guy saying that he has the right to be healthy and shouldn't have cancerous smoke blown into his lungs, and the other saying that we're becoming a nanny state and soon fast food will be banned for our health.

I say everyone should be forced to smoke, so that way no-one minds, but what do other people think?

If you don't smoke though then no-one will buy cigarettes. If everyone bought more cigarettes then more people would be spending money, making things cheaper as the economy grows stronger. That means it's logic is not only ethical, but it's economical too...lol

To be honest I am just joking with this logic stuff. I just find it funny to imagine what the world would be like if everyone did absurd stuff, but logically. I think I've been reading Alice in Wonderland too much...

Anyway my bad joke has led the thread away from what I wanted to bring up, whether people feel their rights are being invaded by forcing people to stop smoking, or whether people think it's about time the goverment did something about second hand smoke.
