I quit smoking 8 years ago but still get the odd dream in which I decide to.just have 1 and then start smoking like a trooper - sometimes with a cigarette in each hand!

On awakening I feel very disappointed and it's only once fully awake I realise it was just a silly dream.

I get about 2-3 per year.

Anyone other ex smokers get these?

Absolutely, I gave up over 2 years ago and regularly dream of smoking and like you, wake up disappointed.
 
I get this with drink and drugs. Been sober nearly 10 years and I still have dreams where I'm out drinking and carrying on, even if I don't even think about it these days.
 
I used to at first but not for a couple of years now. I now just hate and feel judgemental about people smoking near me and polluting my air. I also hate those huge plumes of fumes from those e-cigs.

I dream about you smoking too and I also wake up disappointed.

You disappoint me in my dreams op. In my dreams.
 
I occasionally get a notion, but its quickly suppressed. And thats with still vaping and knowing ciggies just taste of garbage now.

Its something that will never leave, you cant have just one as itll be straight back to 20 a day.
 
I had this with World of Warcraft. Was very addicted to that game throughout 2006 and some of 2007. Played it less after that and gave up in 2009. Like with the OP though, I'll get 2 or 3 such dreams a year.
 
It's quite a good reminder actually because the only other time I gave up was for 7 weeks and decided, as I'd now quit, that the odd one would be ok.. That failed miserably and I was back on the fags, smoking more than before.

I hardly ever think about smoking now but the subconscious must be there ticking over, reminding me what an effort it was to stop, and what an achievement it is to not be a smoker any more.

The dreams are very weird, as well as turbo smoking with a fag in each hand I look down at the cigarette to see it's burnt down to the filter and now I'm just smoking the tarry stinky stub!

Yes I had a few of those dreams in the year or so after I quit. Guess it's not unusual after all!
 
I also have dreams where in real life I'm a useless runner but I'm a superb marathon runner in my dreams. It's also the same for football, cycling and other sports where I'm picking up medals.
There is one thing I am good at and been doing since 1970 and that's performing on stage with bands however in my dreams they are all disasters :D
It's amazing how dreams work.
