Need some advice guys.

I'm looking for the following from a mousepad:

Needs to be like a sheet of ice. No friction at all
Durable. Needs to last a year or longer without loosing the above quality.

What I've tried so far.

Sphex - 1-2 weeks amazing glide . Then the wear starts.
Steel series S&S pro. Amazing out the box , quickly loses its glide.

There must be something better than this.

I've not used any harsh chemicals whilst cleaning etc.
My mouse is a razer naga.

Thanks in advance

I would have recommended the Steelseries S&S ones... they've served me well and are what you're after but you've already used one! Are you using the sticky feet for the mouse that come with the surface? Mine is a couple years old and I can still slide my mouse over it with a gentle flick.

I tend to find that it is the mouse feet that stop gliding so much, not the pad. I have the Steelseries S&S as well. You could try some new feet on the mouse, or some teflon tape.

Other than that have you tried some Mr Sheen on the mouse mat?

Thanks for the info guys.

What i found was that the 2 sphexes Ive had recently were amazing for about a month.
the steel series S&S pro was excellent for about 3 weeks.

now the middle of the pad has significantly more friction.
its ok for sweeping movements but the micro precision i had for the first 3 weeks has gone.

Are there any aluminum / glass pads that offer extreme glide and very low friction.
hopefully they would offer more durability

Again thanks for the help.

I have used the Ice Mat, or whatever steel series is calling it these days, and it is great with a new mouse, the glide is fantastic, but it wears down the teflon feet in no time at all and then you start to get this horrible scratching sound.

Cheers people.

Bacon that pad looks interesting keeps me updated.
The annoying thing is finding one that's going to last a while .

The more I read the more I'm leaning towards glass or aluminium.
Really disappointed in the sphex and S&S.

i did use a alu one for a while but i dont like the cold feeling on my arm and they make a lot noise too

i agree the other ones should last longer, ive now got use to cloth pads and i think they have got better with their glide, how heavy ur mouse is has a big effect too i think
