I realise I'm spending too much on Innocent smoothies, so I have bought a smoothie maker and now want some recipes to see if I can do it cheaper than buying Innocent. I'm going to go to Asda today to get some fruit stocks and just need to know what I'm getting.

My favourite is banana and strawberry so I want a good recipe for that. Would also like a mango and passion fruits recipe as that is also win. :D

Here is my current daily smoothie:

1 Mango
1 Banana
10 chunks or so of fresh Pineapple.
1 glass of Apple juice (or your own apple juice if you have a Juicer)

Blend up and pour into a bowl. Then chuck 5 or so ice cubes into the blender and a teaspoon of juice and blend again to make some ice crush. Add the previously blended contents back in and give one final spin.

Yummy :)

Banana and blueberry + milk = heavenly

Innocent smoothies = bleurgh.

Magimix = win for smoothies, frothy goodness!

Look on the back of the innocent bottles, they have the recipe on them :p

The one you mentioned I think has - bananas, strawberries, grapes, lemon juice, maybe orange juice.

All you need is a blender, not a smoothy maker, they're a gimmic lol.

Just mix your fruit (e.g. some raspberries and some blackberries) with some vanilla ice-cream and mix it. Playing around with quantities yourself is the best way to get it perfect ;)

Do not do what my mum does and put about 7 different fruits in and blend, it just turns into a brown gloop with no distinct flavour. Pick 2 fruits and a juice to blend with some ice, they give the best tasting smoothies imo.

Thats what I use, easier and quicker to clean as well. I always put a spoonfull of honey in mine as well to sweeten up the fruit.

Got to Asda to discover frozen banana and strawberry in the frozen aisle. Only 50p for a 500g bag so bought 4 of those. I did also buy the fresh ingredients but I'm beginning to think that was a bit pointless now as the frozen stuff tastes good enough.

250g of the frozen fruit and 500ml of Orange Tropicana seems to make a rather tasty smoothie

If you want your smoothie to last longer than like 6 hours, don't put banana in it, they make them go off really quickly.

My girlfriend works at the smoothiebar 'Zumo' so shes told me what they use.

1, Frozen Yoghurt
2. Any fresh fruit you like to mix it in with
3. Fresh fruit juice

And away you go :D i can't stress how much nicer they taste when the fruit is ripe and juicy.

Doesn't matter what I put in the smoothie machine, It always ends up not as good and I have to wash up, i make a big batch if it's okay but still. I'm a shop bought kind of man.
