Hi, yes a GAY thread but....

I just bought myself a smart little smoothie maker with the intent of eating (or drinking) a tad more healthier this new year. Do any of you have one and could you tell me what your favourite recipes are (either for healthy eating or not). You see Ive tried a few already but they've turned out tasting a little "rich" :)

cheers

At the mo Im sticking to greek yoghurt, bananas and forest fruits. My mate was on about all manner of things like nutmeg extract and ginger! Bugger that! I bought this thing for ease!

Sounds nice, Ill try it out.. my favourite so far...

1 Mango (Diced and frozen)
1 Papaya (Diced and frozen)
2 Apricots (diced)
Some natural plain yoghurt
1 tbsp honey
A splash of OJ
Milk (As much as you need to reach the consistency you desire - I like it quite thick :) )

Mix for a few seconds then smooth for about 20 - 30secs

^turns out very smooth and ice cold refreshing, Id definitely try it :)

Are smoothies, with the right ingrediants, really as healthy as people make out?

Well today I had 1 banana, 1 apple, 1 papaya, 2 apricots, 5 grapes, 5 strawberries, milk and yoghurt all in one go. Id never really eat that seperately but Im getting at least 5 portions of fruit a day... so, in answer to your question... yes :)

Been drinking this one for a while now its very nice! :) I would suggest, to save yourself quite a bit of money and make it healthier, substitute the muller for a pot of natural yoghurt and a jar of strawberry jam ;) . I took the kiwi out too, didn't like it so much with that in.
