I ran into an unusual issue trying to run an SMP client on my XP system.
When i run the SMP client the system BSOD and reboots sometimes in a preferbial loop.
Now as long as i dont run the SMP client the system will quite happily run my three GPU clients.

Ive tried removing all the files and re downloading them but it still reboots the system.
The part that annoys me the most is the xp system is currently run by an AMD X6 Phenomm II processor.

HELP!!!!!!!

I had this with my Q6600 machines, it was because I hadn't removed the old mpiexec version of the client properly, I had just deleted it or copied the new one over the top.

I don't have an old install anymore, but basically you need to install the old version then check the install.bat the commands inside it you can run with -remove switches to uninstall all the mpich services and such.

Then when its all removed run the uninstall for the SMP client and delete the folders.

The systems been running fine for a few weeks now without any problems
so why would it suddenly start acting up now.

I did have to do a repair instal a few weeks ago as windows was playing up
after which i downloaded another copy of the SMP client and installed it
Since then it has run numerous work units with no problems until yesterday.
The main error i was getting was the A3 core had caused a problem and needed to be shut down.
So i stopped the client and deleted the core including the FAHlogs and restarted the client. So i know the core should have been fine however it started the rebooting loop over again as ive set both my systems to auto log on using the correct credentials required to run an SMP client.
I have even pasted a copy of the smp shortcut into the startup folder so it auto starts just incase of random reboots

Edit: ive just went on the xp system removed all mpiexec from registry
and removed the client via add and remove software.
Ive re deleted all the files from the new folder except the smp.exe and the client config file
When starting the client i got this below.
Note: Please read the license agreement (SMP.exe -license). Further
use of this software requires that you have read and accepted this agreement.

well i spoke too soon at some point before i got up it hung again.
On restarting the system and the SMP client i instantly got an error from windows about the FAHcore A3.
so for the time being ive just got the gpu clients running in that system which seems to run fine without the smp client.

I had thought at one point it could have been the PSU starting to fail as the system is being run by a Silverstone Strider 750 watt unit, which is now a good 3-4 years old.
currently in the system there is a 9800 GX2 and a 8800GTS 512 as well as a PHenomm II X6 1090t at stock.
but looking at whats there i would not of thought that the psu would struggle with them.

The only other option i can think would be to completely re install the system
