SMP config

I have configged to ask permission before connecting which works but unlike the Win console which also asks before getting a new unit, Smp connects when you press C sends results & automatically gets new unit. Short of closing terminal or blocking the connection what are the alternatives?
Is this what happens to everyone else?

[PS I have Seti units & a climate change one to finish in BOINC & SMP use 70-80% resources of my x2 & greatly slows everything down]

Thanks for the wise words, guys.
As I still can't get FahMon to run either in Ubuntu or with Wine I took a look at the project stats: only seems to be about 5 projects for SMP at present.
Good ppd though
