Simple question does using the SMP client on windoze rule out using the GPU client too?

I know it was originally that you couldn't use one of your CPU cores with the GPU, but I've lost touch a bit on what combinations are possible.

Looks like I won't be trying that then. Still got to do something to minimise the stompings that are heading my way :(

I know the feeling - not much I can do to avoid it either :(

I've chosen the GPU client alongside a standard client on my X2 as the WinSMP client produces about the same anyway - just got the GPU client working again after my machine had to be turned "not on" for the weekend and it threw a bit of a paddy (seemed to be a driver issue so I've upgraded to 7.2s incase I ever play a game on it :p).
If it stays happy overnight I may have to get the Acelero cooler attached and try for some higher clocks

I get about the same using SMP or cpu + gpu clients. I find it much easier using the smp as running the gpu client 24/7 effects browsing. If I want to game I have to switch off the gpu but with smp it simply idles. So much easier using smp.

I decided to try and run away very fast, which has at least got me some short-term benefit, but I'm not sure how long it'll last. :(

Well I'm currently getting 720PPD with the GPU and 280PPD with a bonus WU on a standard client - when I tested the WinSMP client before I wasn't getting much more than 830PPD. If it weren't for the Bonus WU it would be a lot closer call to make.
I don't seem to get any real oddness with browsing though I think that is more common with the 256MB cards. Also the last time this card saw a game was in the previous owner's machine :p

Once the WinSMP is a bit more ironed out I'll probably switch over - really don't have the time or patience for it at the moment :o
