I've just installed vmware and the smp client.

I've loaded the smp client and it's just sat there for the last 30 mins at 74%.

Looking in task manager the vmware processes isn't using any cpu resources.

Have i missed something?

what exactly is at 74%?
that what the CPU usage is showing as in Linux?

edit: and what is using the CPU according to task manager?

The actual smp wu is at 74% complete. I copied the files across from my native linux setup and installed the folder straight into suse run in vmware. I then went through starting the smp client with ./fah5 and it stated that i'd already completed 74% of the unit.

The vmware console in task manager is showing zero cpu usage.

ahh right - you probably need someone much more gifted with Linux than me in that case :p

Could it be anything to do with access rights?

Not sure about that i tried starting as root but still no joy.

The GPU client that i had just installed was just EUE all the time(my WU count as gone from 52 to 244 and not a point in sight) so i took the easy way out and went back to my native linux and started again.

I suppose it's one way of getting my wu count up pretty fast, before you know it i could have been in the thousands.
In reference to the GPU EUE issue it's probably the wrong drivers - ATi's support of folding seemed to drop off at the end of the 6's, I think 6.11 are the last to work (if you can find them) otherwise 6.10 seem to work ok.

Up and running in VMware.

I eventually got both the smp client in vmware running and the gpu client aswell.

I just did a fresh install of everthing, changed the GPU driver to 6.10 and now at 75% in task manger with two smp's and a gpu running.
