Hi, at the moment I have a shuttle SN25P along with a x2 3800 and a 512MB ati x1800 XT. I find playing 1080p content a little sluggish and get noticeable slowdown in games like world of warcraft when there is a lot going on.

Im just wondering if replacing the x1800 with something like a radeon hd 3850 along with upgrading the cpu to an opteron 180 would make much of a difference?

I know the geforce 8800 GT is meant to be pretty good, but ive read that quite a few people have problems getting them to work in shuttles :(

thanks for any advice.

I'm in the same situation as you. My shuttle struggles to play 1080 movies though. Therefore I am going to jump to Intel and get a cheap set up going for now, we only need to buy cpu, psu, motherboard and case and transfer everything else.

I have just got a few upgrades for my sn25p as it happens. A powercolour 3870 overclocked edition and a 1tb hdd. Not fitted them yet but will be doing so tonight. There is still life in the sn25p yet especially if you have 2gb of ram and a decent duel core cpu. I have an opteron 180 myself and that was quite an improvement over my 3000+ clocked at 2.7ghz.

I'll post back with my findings.
