Hi,

Had this machine for a few months now and it runs perfect, first time since having the machine i needed to use the usb ports. Tried my pen drive in the front two, nothing doing, tried it in the back and again nothing doing.

I bought it off the MM and didnt get the manual with it. I downloaded a PDF off the shuttle website but cannot find anything in it that helps me towards getting the usb ports working. Have looked in the bios and they seem to be enabled.

Am i missing something easy? I could understand the front panel ones not working if a cable was unplugged. I thought the ones on the I/O would work with not needing a connection.

Thanks in advance.

Have you installed XP Service Pack 2?

Does everything appear correctly in Device Manager?

My 25P works perfectly with USB front and back

Not sure what else to suggest

I *DID* have this about a day after I bought my shuttle (same model), only thing that worked for me was to turn off for about 10mins or reset the CMOS.

/touches wood - not had any issues for weeks now, all ports work perfectly.

dont suppose your using an X2 cpu are you, i can remember reading some issues with X2 and USB, but cant remember exactly what.

i think it was fixed on a newer bios ?

id say check the bios to see if USB is even enabled, if it is then update the bios.

whether he has SP2 or not, you should still get USB 1.1 afaik

Thanks for the replys folks.

Well i have some good news :) I managed to get the usb ports working!! Yay i hear you cry, guess your wondering how?

Well, i tried the usb from my camera and it worked fine. So i guess i'll be ordering a new pendrive :o

Sorry, first thing i should have checked. Thoroughly embarrassed.

lol glad ya got it sorted, if any of our suggestions didnt work, i dont know what you'd be able to do?? if its still in warranty maybe RMA it but no one likes goin through htem cos they take the pee sometimes :(
