I have one of these ancient beasts.

Been a good workhorse for a good few years now.

I upgraded about a year and a half ago with an AGP X700 card, a Sempron 2800+ and 1GB RAM now. Is it worth my while upgrading it again, ie shoving in a Sempron 3300+, upgrading to 2GB RAM, and putting a high end AGP gfx card in it? Or just building a new PC and flogging this because its way past it?

Also has anyone else modified the original cooling of an SN41G2? Mines stock, bloody loud, and bloody hot.

Depends what you use it for.

I've just upgraded mine to 2GB as it's running 2003 server with Exchange 2003 for my e-mail. Mine sits at the bottom of the stairs in the cupboard. That's it.

Until mine stopped working, my SN45v1 (which has the same case as yours) had a 120mm fan on the cooler instead of the 80mm fan. It was quiter and using speedfan also helps. :)

check my thread in this forum for complete spec.
