Snazzy Lights?

I'm looking to put some case lighting in my rig as it is a bit too dark at the moment, as shown by the Project Log link in my signature.

My thinking is to put some LEDs behind my reservoir (which is 250mm in installation height), such as this.

Does anyone know of any funkier lighting solutions to put behind the reservoir and light up the whole system pretty well?

It comes with a two metre LED strip with 3M adhesive backing. You can choose any colour under the sun with the RGB mixer (including white), you can change the brightness, you can make it flick through the colours, you can make it blend/cycle through the colours and you can make it flash if you so desire. Though I'd personally just use the fade through colours setting or custom static colours. :D

Quick video of someone playing around with the front panel control trying out all the modes (apart from the colour flashing one) in a Switch 810 White. :)


If you wanted the res to be extra illuminated from behind I suppose you could put a small white LED strip behind it. Otherwise as you can see the Hue makes everything glow quite nicely.

Highly recommend the NZXT Hue posted above. I have it and it wont let you down, it comes with a long strip that fitted all the way around my case edge insde and i have a NZXT 810 case which is massive! IT has a number of controls for color, brightness and effects which is just awesome!
 
Bit of a necro thread update here, but I installed these NZXT Hue lights a while ago and they are excellent, very pleased with them.

One question though - does anyone have an effective solution for sticking the part of the LED strip that's attached to the roof of my 900D up? I have tried double sided tape but part of the strip keeps hanging down, so is there anything I can use which will permanently stick them up? I'm considering just using some superglue to be honest.
 
Either retry with stonger double sided tape (if such a thing exists), or maybe try velcro strips to keep it in place? At least then you'd be able to remove it easily at a later date.

3M do some amazingly strong tape, I used some to hold a perspex window onto my cases side panel, lots of modders use it, can't remember the name and can't check til tomorrow but if you search OCUK forums using advanced search, you should find it, nice and cheap too :)
