Got a call today from T-Mobile's "Loyalty team" trying to get me to renew my contract and upgrade early. I declined saying I wanted to condier my options and chek their website etc.

I looked earlier and apparently they do special deals when you are in the last month of your contract. Just so happens that I'll be entering the last month of my contract in 2 weeks time.

Coincidence? :)

Anyway - Flext looks like a bad deal compared to what I have now (which is what they were trying to push). I was looking at one of the Sony Ericsson Walkman phones as I don't want to splash out on an iPod - are these any good as I was put off SE phones ages ago by crap/buggy/crash-liable software?

the SE W series are pretty good phone I've only experience the w810 first hand but quite a few of my mates have had the others and they all seem quite happy with them
 
As long as the joysticks on the walkman series are different to the k800 thing i've got.

I've had it maybe 6 months and the joystick is less responsive than a stolen comatose squirrel monkey. Which is why i'm now looking for an MP3 player with radio for my daily filthy tube commute, as even switching from radio to mp3 when the tube goes 'under' and back again when leaving is a pain in the arse half the time with it not responding to my constant prodding.

W series don't' have joysticks as such
 
W950I is a great walkman phone, 4gbs of flash memory plus radio. walkman software on there is v.good. downside? crappy keypad for txting.
