Snedie's Loop / Mayhem's Aurora Time Trial

First look at Aurora in a mini loop....

I decided that considering I had just finished cleaning the loop of any contaminants, it would be a great time to take Aurora for a test run without the radiator on.

The video can be found here, please excuse the finger prints all over the block in this video, I didn't notice them until I had recorded, and drained the loop. The lighting is still poor too, but I hope you get the gyst of things. That isn't a leak under the Res, the funnel I was using doesn't make a brilliant fit to the tubing.

Quick note on the build too, all I'm waiting on is hose clamps. I missed the delivery, why someone would send a small envelope with £7 of items in under recorded delivery beats me, but I should have them Saturday.

First GPU block installed.

Loop is now installed, and temps are already down 30c from the stock cooler and I only have 2/3 fans running on the radiator.

Just formatted due to a sudden inability to run any 3d applications. Hopefully a fresh, clean version of windows will help to resolve this.

looks nice :D

It did until the hose coming off the pump outlet sprung a leak...I can't seem to run full screen 3D apps, so to tell if it was hardware or software I decided to stress the gpu cores with a CMD based program (runs perfectly fine). Problem is, because I have used cable ties and not hose clamps, as the tubing warms up it becomes soft and begins to slip at this point.

I've ordered some EK compression fittings from a mystical land, which although expensive as my left nut, should do the job and make this rig look quite a bit better.

No promotion of OcUK's competitors
We, Overclockers UK (OcUK) are happy to provide the resources of these forums to responsible individuals without charge. They cost a substantial amount of money to maintain and use considerable amounts of bandwidth which is paid for exclusively by us. As you know OcUK are in the computer hardware business and therefore the promotion of OcUK's competitors is forbidden. Examples of promotion are :-
Posting links to competitors websites
Posting links to reviews that promote competitors
Quoting the names or contact details of competitors
Offering to provide the names or contact details of competitors
Hinting about product availability at competitors and their pricing
Using the forums to notify a member of intent or actual supply of names or contact details of competitors
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in signatures
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in profile
Posting links to or the mentioning of auction sites
Disguising attempts to do any of the above

Right, just got finished flashing the gpu's and things seem to be running better now.

I'm going to install compression fittings before I start any testing due to the barbs not holding the hose once the coolant gets warm.

Expect the first bench's on Wednesday, and sorry for the delays.

thats a shame i was looking forwards to see what your review.

I'll register over at your forums tomorrow and post up some pics, a video and some benchmarks. As and when I can, I'll post more up.

If the forum codes are "copy paste" friendly between OcUK and Mayhem's I'll put up anything I produce over there. If not, I'll provide a link (if allowed) to the mayhem's thread in my sig.

Cool will pop over to mayhems and keep my eye on it there, sorry to here your having a hard time here a lot of people i no have been watching this

No worries :D - I think it's the best place for it, over at mayhems.

Unfortunately this is the case with most forums which also have shop fronts.

I'm sure overclock.net would love this sort of content since it's heavily enthusiast oriented.

Will keep an eye out for your post :)

These are the kind of tests that put products on the map ...

Ive sorted it out now. We were testing Video auth and seems they want me to pay £500 which i aint doing for a simple forum so its now changed to make it easier. whoot.

Looking forwards to you tests and see how they stack up again our unpublished ones :).

you might what to add as well in the post that your trials are independent of us and we have no say on what you post to keep the trolls at bay ;).

Hey guys,

I've got a pretty busy day tomorrow so rather than disappoint you any more I've spent a couple hours running and compiling the Heaven benchmark. The results can be found under "Week 3" in post #2

Here is a link to the thread over at Mayhem's website where I will be posting my results, hopefully on a weekly basis. Should I not be able to update this thread for what ever reason, you can reach me over at this place:

http://www.mayhems.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10

Thankfully Mayhem's use the same scripting engine for their forum (would have been amazed if they didn't actually), so copying results over is a dodle. As such, when results are posted up on Mayhem's I will also publish them here.
