Snedie's Loop / Mayhem's Aurora Time Trial

There is also a video coming, pretty poor quality due to incandescent lighting in this room. If I get chance tomorrow I'll try do the video when it's day light.

im quite interested to see what happens as there is a lot of discussion about this fluid, so i;d like to see your long-term testing :)

Well I'm not planning any upgrades to this rig now, with exception to maybe a socket 1156 i7 if I can find one, so I'll be running this coolant right up till August. Granted that the coolant last's that long, at this point I will make a final review on the coolant and switch to the next magical goop mayhem's push our way :D

ah shame you were pseudo-banned:(
was looking forward to your results

you found it worked ok at lower pump speeds I see?

It does work with lower pump speeds for sure, the effect isn't as dramatic but in it's own way pretty cool, reminds me of "robot blood" :D

Only problem I did note was that the pearls can build up on the ends of barbs if they taper at all. They soon come loose if the pump is ramped up though, and the build up isn't anywhere near significant enough to cause any visible difference to the fluid.

Week 5 results posted up, enjoy guys. Soon as I get hold of the camera again I'll upload some fresh pics of the coolant, which is still shining as good as ever :D

One thing I noticed in my loop, and I think people should know so they don't think something is wrong, is that I've had my Aurora running now for a little over a month now, and strangely enough, the pearls are returning!

I say returning because, the coolant seemed to become clear after about 3 weeks of constant circulation. I was kind of expecting it to clear eventually given the size of my loop. I suspected pearls getting just stuck in the radiator or some such, but it seems now that the pearls are slowly returning back, and my tube res is beginning to look very swirly again.

Although it's nowhere near as thick as it was originally, it does seem to be gaining momentum. Will see over the next few weeks how it looks :)

Because aurora is so small it can get trapped in recess and and parts were the flow is bad. How ever we are doubling the amount of aurora in a bottle now so that ppl can see the effect more. This is a temp messure for now but we are still working on it to make it better including a new carrier fluid.

Sure you have a decent flow rate? No dead spots an such. What have you changed in the loop that you think could cause the pearls to come back (new pump, few blocks/rads etc).

Also now got hold of the camera again, will be posting pic's up tonight hopefully :)

I have a D5 on setting 5 at the moment. I haven't changed anything in the loop since putting the Tharsis Red in. It's getting thicker again though. It's even more visible again today than it was yesterday. Odd eh?

I changed my tharsis for normal pastel, I flushed twice (only in one direction mind and I couldnt get to the pump to flush at a high speed so it was a slow speed flush)

when I put the pastel in and started running the loop it was full of pearl.. I now have tharsis pastel...

Seconded, would love to see some pics :D

Sorry my bad lol I have UV red not pastel... Before the aurora depleted again it looked just like normal tharsis

Now I must find out what pastel looks like.. I must have changed my order or something and when it arrives I was like oh that's quite normal

Some pics posted up under "Week 5". Excuse the dust, and lack of focus on the pictures. The case has been open for all 5 weeks due to that leaky connector between the GPU's, need to be very quick with a tissue to grab any liquid that does seep out.
