Okay, so I've just received a SNES that I ordered :) Now, I connected it to my 42" HDTV and I knew the picture wouldn't be the best etc but I read that you can improve the picture with some kind of scaler/converter. Would anyone have a clue about this?

The picture from a RGB scart is very good out of the snes. However make sure you get the correct cable which has a capacitor in otherwise the picture will fade away.

Enjoy the snes, these upscalers and scanline generator things can be quite expensive. They basically take the signal from the snes and upscale it via VGA to your monitor or HDTV, you can also buy a scan line generator to give it that CRT feel.

Regardless of whether you use the TV internal upscaler or an external one you need ultimate give it the best input quality which is RGb scart. So personally I would get the scary cable first see hoe good the TV upscaler is before spending quite a bit of money on an external upscaler.

If you can, get a retro fat back CRT TV, its cheaper. Cant get any better than that, play the SNES in its original way instead of spending money on overpriced upcalers.
