I've just booked in on this track day at the new Snetterton 300 circuit in August with my Dad. We are both going in the inters so I can give him some lessons. I'll see how the day goes and move up to the fast group in the afternoon if there is space.

I was wondering if anybody else was going along or wanted to meet up there? Only £95 from UK Bike Trackdays if you book soon (20% discount if booked 60 days in advance).

PS. does anyone know where to get a good price on race/track rubber (slicks or treaded track rubber) as I always used to buy from the race paddock suppliers. Looking for 120/70 and 180/55 sizes.

Ebay always have race stuff and they are usually just ebay stores of the big tyre suppliers like round and black etc..

I would love to come with but I doubt I will be able to afford it, id have just come back from an expensive holiday, still need to sort my first TD of the year once I get this damn sv sorted.

You really should get back out there! Let me know if you would like a hand with anything on the SV. I think I can still remember most of the mods we did to them in the minitwins.

Cheers dude ill let you know if I get stuck, I got the carbs rebuilt on the weekend but forgot about charging the battery so might see if she runs tonight, fingers crossed she does then I can get on with sorting some clocks (most likely the vaypor kit), lights and bodywork to get her MOT'd

Well this sucks, just had an email from the UK Bike Trackdays company:

Unfortunately we have taken the decision to cancel our Event at the Snetterton 300 Circuit on the 2nd August 2011.

The reason for this decision is that as you may be aware we are a new company within the trackday industry and we are trying to establish ourselves as one of the top trackday companies for quality track time and space. The only way we can do this and to make sure that in the future we are still here to provide this service is to make sure that the events we run are commercially viable. Unfortunately this year has been a slow year for the trackday industry and we have not filled as many spaces at each event as we had forecast. It is with great regret that we have taken the decision to cancel some of our remaining events. After our final event this year we will be reviewing all of the information about our events so far with a view to being a stronger company in 2012.

All money that you have paid to UK Bike Trackdays has now been refunded back on to the card used to book your place at this event,

Good news is they are going to refund, I've nearly been stung before with a trackday going under and not getting my money back.

Instead I've phoned up Focussed Events who are running a trackday on Monday 1st the day before and gone with them. Costing me an extra £15 each for myself and my Dad but at least it's going ahead!

Just need to get on with changing the chain and sprockets on the race bike. I've also got a shiny new slipper clutch with light weight ally clutch plates waiting to be fitted so will try and get that done too.

PS. Fireskull did you get the bike working?

That sucks mate, glad you got something else sorted though :D

Nope not yet, not looked at it since rebuilding the Carbs, battery is knackered and either the rectifier has gone or there's a bad earth somewhere :/
But I am off to Florida tomorrow :D so I will sort the bike when I have money again probably in August :p
