I don't know if this is will help but recently some games will not launch for me, black screen and crashes. Turns out MSI Afterburner was the issue. Once I shut down Afterburner they launched fine.

Maybe some 3rd party program you have running may be the cause?

I've recently installed new mo bo, cpu and ssd would these have any effect??

only if u didn't do a total reinstall other wise should be ok
and if this is the only game doing it then I would say not down to new stuff

Have u tryed using program compatibility mode maybe on windows 7 mode or vista just to see if it helps sometimes its lets games startup that wouldn't

also check the game folder myn is 6.03GB
Go in to your graphic card settings and game settings and press defaults to make sure

All I can think of doing

I did a fresh install of Win7 and re-installed everything fresh. SGW2 is a digital D/L by the way and it's 6.03GB the same as yours.

Still no joy here....I've tried 2 different versions of drivers and re-installed steam. Also tried re-downloading the game twice and verifying games file.

This niggle is turning into an annoyance.
