would have thought the web would have been saturated with these . . . but perhaps not.

I'm after a very small/simple snmp trap receiver (console or gui) which logs to a file (xml/text/whatever). It has to run on XP x86 and be a standalone application (net-snmp is out with a dependency on perl etc).

Suggestions / pointers most welcome.

Cheers, Paul.

I did take a peek at PRTG but it's certainly not lightweight. However perhaps I can strip out all the tools I do not actually need.

Cheers, Paul.

EDIT - Yes, unfortunately PRTG installs multiple services and acts as a web server, it does not appear to actually provide a trap reciever for other hosts (it appears you have to install PRTG on to the host you actually wish to trap).

Just to add some detail, all I'm actually wanting to do here is trap snmp notifications from a single VMWare vCenter.

Actually found something which fits the bill perfectly and like everything else on the web: "Wood for trees."
