Snoopy Sloop - GPS Guided Trans-Atlantic Robot Boat Attempting To Break Record

god those websites are awful, it's like being in the 90's again :p

Haha i was thinking exactly that! Wouldn't this have been taken out by waves even if it had got out to sea? It seemed a bit small and liable to capsize to me. Can't believe the extensive testing involved bunging it in a lake for 7 months :)

The best bit about the BBC video report was when he rolled up his trousers to wade in to the sea, waist deep lol.

Latest News at 1200 28 November 2012: A strong tide pulled Snoopy into Alum Bay, Isle of Wight. He last reported on the rocks. He stopped reporting - so water in electronics now ? PLEASE DO NOT TAKE RISKS TRYING TO RESCUE HIM! Robin welcomes pictures, that can be used here, TAKEN SAFELY, such as by telephoto from The Needles Country Park. Local people like the BBC may be able to get closer pictures, or even recover him safely. Depending on damage, he can either be re-launched, with 'phone help from Robin, or be fixed to sail again soon. However, this seems increasingly unlikely. The good news is that he worked well - and he was very unlucky. A launch an hour earlier, or from a few hundred yards further west, and he might have made it past The Needles. See earlier news reports below. More pictures and news here soon.

Can't get much more exciting than this. :D
