So is anyone going next weekend ? this will be my 5th time , great day out.

I'm hoping too, but forgot to order a spectator program this year :(

Does anyone know the stages and times ?

Bit of info from off various sites for anyone thinking of going -

SS1 Glen Urquhart 8.99 miles
SS2 Boblainy 6.12 miles
Dingwall mart service
SS3 Torrachilty 10.67 miles
Dingwall mart service
SS4 Strath Rory 12.13 miles
SS5 Scotsburn 6.06 miles
Total stage miles 43.97
Total road miles 113.26

First stage is near Drumnadrochit, starting approx 9:50. Car park will be signed from the Drum to Cannich road.

Stage 3 Torrachilty starts at noon, it's west of Contin.

Stage 5 near Tain starts 2pm.

anyone know where scotsburn stage starts? It isnt up Tain hill?

Last time i went to see the scotsburn stage, we were directed to this field for parking. I think that was in 2011 (it was the year that stage was cancelled because a car caught fire) so i have no idea if it will be the same route or parking arrangements.

http://www.flyingfinish.co.uk/ has an entry list and the start times of the first car through each stage if anybody is interested.

V sad about the accident.

I've not been to such an event before but was tempted after seeing the rally stage at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. At this event the spectator areas are clear and controlled, I guess this is easier to do because its a relatively small area.

Is there guidance given at rally race events as to where and where not to stand?

yes there is guidance albeit vague, however when you turn up to the stages the dager areas are usually taped off with hazard tape, you also have marshals at the designated spectators areas, i cant speak for the marshals in this instance but all the rallies i've attended they usually keep the spectators out of the more dangerous areas.
but from what i've seen they only have so much control over where people stand, and as always incidents will happen, and theres no telling where they will happen what may appear to be a safe spectating area could be the sight of a freak crash, its an unpredictable sport.
