I was just wondering if anyone has used these or similar? As its my first year with powerful RWD auto car (Lexus GS450H) I thought about getting some of these to help when the snow comes down to get to work or if the snow comes down to get home. I know the batteries over the rear wheels will help but previous owner and other owners state they are pretty poor in the snow, as are most RWD cars with decent power and wide tyres. Anyway any reccomendations? I saw some last year in Costco for about £50.

They're an ideal solution for when you are stuck at the bottom of a hill or something in a RWD car. A bloke I used to work with tried some on his 3 series and whilst you can't really thunder about everywhere with them on they're ideal for when you get stuck (or think you are about to get stuck)

As above they'll help to get you up a hill or out of a ditch etc but you can't drive with them on - to be honest if you're sensible that's the only time you'll ever need them anyway it's not like we tend to get winters of deep freeze

I've a set of something similar (that I've had for 3 years and never used ) - they're called composite chains, in reality they are simply a mesh of bungie chord, can see how it would work again to get the car out of somewhere.

That's just what I wanted to know. I live on an estate with gentle inclines both ways out of the estate. It never gets gritted but once out on to the main roads its usually fine.
