So, bike carbs then.

Ok, so I'm seriously toying with the idea of putting a set of bike carbs on the other engine I have bought for the Golf (see my Golf update thread). I would combine them with a fruity cam and a later VAG 8v crossflow head.

Anyway, the reasons I am considering bike carbs is:

A - Cheap power. Bike carbs can be picked up for around £50 (I will make a manifold up myself)
B - Epic induction noise.

So, aside from hosing fuel at an alarming rate, are there any massive disadvantages to going down this route?

Yeah I've been doing some research and am aware of the need the jet them correctly, and the fuel pressure issue. Both dead easy to overcome though.

Go for it

Gonna get it done by the 25th? Next big Golf meet up at Oxford :p

No chance, they won't be going on my current engine, they'll be going on my 2.0, and that wont be done for at least a couple of months yet.

Besides, I'm at Combe on the 25th :D
