Sent a box full of stuff to music magpie, mostly old games and DVDs, all worth about a quid but it did decllutter some stacked boxes I haven't since I moved over a year ago.

Just got an email and, there's an item missing. What must be pure coincidence it's the Xbox one that went missing. The most expensive item.

Wouldn't have been much more I don't think, besides this was easy.

See what music magpie say. Even sent a photo of the receipt

It'll be MyHerpes.

Happened to me as well with Magpie. Scanned in 3 boxes of CD and was quoted £115. The cheque that arrived in the post several weeks later was more like £100.

Same happened to me - Most expensive item missing. You need to push Music Magpie - Assuming they instructed Hermes, the contract is between them and Hermes, not you.

MM are a con - They do this to the vast majority of customers in the hope of just getting away with it. There is a facebook group filled with hundreds of people affected.

I threatened them with legal action (just on principle) because all my items were in one box, well packaged, yet 3 of them were "missing". Funnily enough they "found" them.

I hate this company with a passion for their shoddy business practices, which are quite deliberate.

For balance... I've never had a problem with MM and used them for many years, even sent three consoles a few weeks back and all the transactions were flawless.

dont you work for yodel?

Yodel? Over my dead body :p

I am just about to box and send my old iPhone. Reviews on the comparison site are good and they have given me a prepaid tracked delivery label so hoping it will be fine. I will make sure that I keep the receipt from the post office.

Yea, I emailed them a photo of my receipt from Hermes.

Reserving judgement until I hear back from them. But I'm not happy.

Since no one has said it yet I guess I should remind of the obligatory GD "poo through letter box", I suppose you have a few choices (The delivery guy, Hermes HQ, or MMP HQ) :D

Don't want to derail the thread but is it really as bad as what it appears or is it just a minority of Yodel delivery drivers that "Aren't the best" to put it lightly (No offense intended) :)

Honestly it's a minority. Or we wouldn't still need in business.

I actually pood in the box, they have me 37p for it.

I remember selling my Xbox 360 Slim to a similar site, had a few less value sales with them before. So I sold them the console and a few games, and they say the console is bricked, despite it being only a few months old, and working perfectly before shipping it and packaging it to be bombproof.

They gave me two options, return it at my cost, where I know for certain they would've bricked it themselves or 'dispose' of it, i.e sell it in their shop. Still got some money for the games though...

An item missing? Gah, its always something or other. I had the "the item you sent wasn't the one it was supposed to be so we're making a deduction" bullcrap. Seems to be standard practise to promise a lower-than-rock-bottom price and then find some "excuse" to pay even less.

They're parasites. Ok if you want to de-clutter and the stuff would only end up going to the tip otherwise, but if you;re prepared to put in the time and effort and actually want a decent price for your junk look elsewhere.

Will good news...

They just found my Xbox and are paying the full amount.

Well that is good news, sounds like if you're prepared to kick up a fuss they'll magically "find" the missing items.
