I'll admit the games i play arent the most intensive but thought ill get a new gpu instead of intergrated just incase i do decide to play more intensive games.

So far with the GPU installed playing the same games i played flawlessly with my APU... ive been getting strange stuttering with random frame drops.

Im probably getting confused on how to set it up properly.

My monitor has freesync as does the amd GFX card i bought, Do i always have this enabled ? or only when i cant manage to hit 60fps manually ?

I can select enhanced sync which allows me to bypass the games 60fps locked... and i can see im hitting over 400/500 fps when playing the game so i know the GFX card is decent enough.

However it doesnt stop the lagging/stuttering.... even when i play with it locked to 60fps it still happens... if i use the enhanced sync to have unlocked fps it happens.... if i use freesync on the monitor and software it still happens...

Never happened with my 2200g.

Any tips on how to set up my rx580gb for most games ?

thanks

No brand new and ive tried loads of stuff to counter this random stutter lag that happens.

Freesync on and off, limit fps, capped to 60. etc...

I dont think its caused by fps as i can keep a constant 60fs but i get these random lags i might try filming it to give a better idea.

Which monitor cable are you using? (Displayport, HDMI, DVI) Have you disabled the onboard graphics in the BIOS? And - hopefully a silly question - but you have plugged the monitor cable into the GPU?

To add to this has he tried a different cable? If be inclined to get another drive and put a fresh install of W10 on it and see what happens. Easy to revert to the old drive and may quickly show if it's just a software/driver remnants messing with things.

Seen this a coupla times before, and it might appear unrelated, but what speed and voltage have you got your system memory set to? Try just reducing the speed by a few mhz and /or increasing the ram voltage to 1.35v (assuming its set at 1.2v and is DDR4). I know it seems totally unrelated but you might find this helps or gives an indication of where the problem be.

System specs? Games , details resolutions you are playing at, what was your old gpu (2200g igp?) What performance were you getting what are you getting now.

Kinda need that info as need to know and check the basics first
