Just got this email through from Cardiff Uni PhotoSoc:

I have been asked to recruit some photographers for work tonight. £10 an hour, from 9.30 - 11.30, then free entry into the club. It is a pretty smart venue, so you would need to dress reasonably smartly. The only other requirement is that you have an SLR, film or digital, but IT MUST HAVE A FLASH. Just send off your flash as much as you can when there are trendy people around!

Nice, easy, CV-filling work and a decent bit of cash to boot....

....and guess which piece of kit I still havent got around to buy?
:(

Quick! Get an order for an SB-600 in post-haste :D

If it's soon, perhaps ask around photo buddies for something you could borrow? Even if it's older and manual...

I'd lend you mine. If I had one. :o
(on my "to buy" list)

This is tonight (yeah, short notice, but thats the way PhotoSoc jobs normally work). Believe it or not, Im the only canon dSLR owner in the society, and the majority of people shoot film, not digital so there's no flashguns about.
Thought about hiring one in town, but it's too late now, and the camera shops in Cardiff suck for stock anyway.

give you had given me enough notice i would have and could have lent you my 550EX speedlite, I am at Glamorgan at the mo. Short train ride away.

Gah.
I only got the email at about 3:30pm today. Guess I'll just have to be more prepared in future, ;)

*starts shopping for a flashgun*

I could have taken a job as a Club photographer, weekly thing, paid hourly + commission on each photo sold AND 4 VIP tickets to whichever club i was going to.

Guess who regrets turning that down? :(
