so games to play

Oh and is it worth picking up a 3d vision 2 kit or is it not that much of a difference/ more of a gimmick.

How did elite hero and x4 rebirth turn out in the end?
If you mean elite dangerous its very good, x4 should be renamed afterbirth - it was an atrocity.

3d vision is a bit of a gimmick still, 4k monitor would be a better investment (with the GPU able to handle it).

If you like Skyrim there is a chance you will enjoy Wastelands 2, Divinity (the new one), Home world remastered (if your into strategy).

On the horizon I'm waiting for Warhammer : Total war & The Witcher 3.

Shadow of Mordor seems to have got a lot of good feedback on here recently, haven't played it myself but it's on the list for when I decide to get my ass in gear.
It's fun, for a while - but won't be one you come back to once completing the main story. It's 'lord of the rings meets assassins creed', with some fun 'duel' type fights.

If you can grab it for £15 it's definitely worth that, but not what I paid for it on release!.

Wolfenstein the New Order
Alien Isolation
Besiege
Gauntlet
Dying Light
Batman games.

Would be on my list.

Personally I'd avoid FC4, it's a blatant CoD style rehash of 3 that doesn't even try to hide it's similarities. The only reason to play it is to C4 a honey badger, and that gets old fast.

X Rebirth..........more like X Stillbirth. :( If you like Space games get Elite Dangerous, let David Barban show you what a proper space sim should be like!

In your first post you mentioned Supreme Commander Forged Alliance. Well worth a reply fantastic game. As for other games:

Alien: Isolation
Mass Effect 2 & 3 (if you haven't played these already)
The Witcher 2
Skyrim with tons of mods
Civilization 5 with Gods & Kings and Brave New World Expansions
Battlefield 4

And I know you have a new PC and yes this is a very old game and all that but I see you like strategy games but I do recommend Age of Empires 2 HD edition. This game has a large following still have in recent times it's enjoyed a second life as Microsoft have updated the game with HD graphics and game fixes (just recently they have patched the game again). Great fun especially if you want to play on line.

Bioshock Infinite (or just Bioshock if you missed that first time around, I loved that story]
Alien:Isolation
Far Cry 3 (if you like that then try 4)
Dishonoured
Shadow of Mordor was good too

This should keep you going for a while :D

Divinity: Original Sin (excellent fantasy ‘old style’ RPG)

Wasteland 2 (another old style RPG, less depth then Divinity but still very good)

Tomb Raider (Really, really good, forget previous tomb raider games, just play this)

Bioshock series (in particular Bioshock: Infinate being my favourite)

Shadows of Mordor (the nemesis system makes this game really fun)

Telltales Walking Dead (or any of their ‘storyboard’ games, walking dead is my fav tho)

Skyrim (basic game is OK, but there are some truly amazing mods out there, and a lot of terrible one’s also, check out the thread on this before installing willy-nilly, but they can turn this into a truly epic looking and playing game)

Mass Effect Series (ME1 can be a bit tough to play through now as it shows its age in UI and Gameplay but the story is excellent, (look for some mods that improve gfx/ui/gameplay for all 3 games, can be a pain to get going but make a big difference, and playing all 3 (or at least 2 & 3) will certainly make the feels hit you a lot more, I dare you not to cry on Tuchanka)

Dragon Age Series (Inquisition is a very good good game and looks great, Origins is dated (mods can help here) but still a great story, Dragon Age 2 is fun with all the DLC but definitely the weakest of the three)

Witcher 2

Batman Arkham series

Xcom: enemy unknown + enemy within expantion

Max Payne 3 (and 2 if you haven’t played that before as it’s the best one)

Metro 2033 and last light (redux versions)

South Park: The stick of truth (if you like the tv series you’ll love this)

For less story but good gameplay;

Diablo 3 + Reaper of souls

Civiiation5 + expansions

Arma 3 (Single player campaign is surprisingly good, also an excellent military sim with a ton of mods to suit your style, and zombies if you want)

It sounds daft but Spin Tires is really fun - but in a daft way.

It seems like its just a drive here pick up drive there game.

Its just not that simple though lol. And graphically its physic engine is really strong.

Dishonoured & DLC's Very good game but, not a stealth game and certainly not as good as ...
Thief Great addition to the series. I think some expected too much of this but for me, it's a great sneak em up. Still the best stealth game going.

Dishonored isn't a stealth game?...Isn't as good as Thief?

Am I in some weird parallel universe?:p

It's a stealth game that doesn't enforce stealth (i.e. you can play it as an action game if you prefer).

Play it right through, undetected, without using the phase jump or whatever it's called, and tell me it's not a stealth game :D

Mafia 2

The story is good by game standards. The gameplay, graphics and attention to detail are good as well.

I have very little tolerance and view most games as garbage so this must have done something right.

Don't play Tomb Raider its god awful.

Not a great deal I can add that others haven't mentioned, but it might be worth checking out War Thunder, if you like WW2 flight sims or tanks.

It's free to play, so you won't get burned with an initial purchase but there is an in-game currency system, although you don't *have* to use it to get anything.

Graphics-wise it looks fantastic, I'm nowhere near maxing it on my system so it'd look even better on a higher spec rig!

Biplane dogfights be fun :D

(also, there's a random bunch of us OcUK'ers get on teamspeak and massacre people quite regularly, or get shot down/blown up depending on how drunk we are!)

Payday 2 - FPS get to rob banks perfect :D
Project zomboid - One of the best zombie survival games.
Mount & blade warband - Control armies and also fight in the battles.
The forest - great fps survival game.

Is planetside 2 worth a punt or is it dead/pay to win now really.

I actually bought project zombie tight at the very beginning before it was on steam or anything. Wonder if I can get the steam version now without having to buy it again
