So... GPUs in 2021. Is it really doom and gloom? (New builder)

I've been reading a lot about the GPU sitch lately and it looks as if I'm going to struggle to get the card I want for my first PC build. I was looking at the 3050/3060/3060ti with my Ryzen 3600 build(Omen x25f monitor mostly for Overwatch)... alas, it all reads a bit bleak.

SO. I currently have a GTX 650ti BOOST... any suggestions for a reasonably priced (<£200) upgrade on this to get me through this year of *****? Is it even worth upgrading? Or should I just carry the 650ti BOOST into my new build for the time being?

Cheers!

Thanks guys. Definitely need an upgrade fairly soon.

1660 Super was top of my list before the latest gen turned my head so I'm gonna hunt one down... but even on eBay they're £250>. If not, the 1070/1080 looks decent for the time being.

Crazy times.

If you are lucky, you may find a used 1660 super for sale which will help you run games like overwatch at 144fps on 1080p/1440p.

If not then try a 1650 or a used 1070

Maybe should have added a bit more info thinking about it...
I'm hoping to reach a consistent 240fps with OW, but in medium/low settings (Omen x 25f, 1080p, 24.5"). Would the 1660s hit that or would i definitely need a 1070/1080?

Overkill perhaps, but it's my main game...

Thanks guys, really appreciate the input!

I'm gonna go ahead and order the rest of the build on Monday and stick my 650ti BOOST in for the time being. I'll keep an eye on 1070/1080s on eBay/Gumtree in case I can find something that isn't a rip-off, also keeping end of Feb (3060 would be grand, ti even better) in mind before I buy anything. What a **** show...

I got this ready to go:
Ryzen 3600 - £179
MSI B450 Tomahawk Max - £90
G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 - £88
Crucial P1 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME - £91
Asus TUF Gaming GT501 ATX case (yeah, I know... :D) - £130
Omen X 25f - £300

Plus £40 shipping.

I'll use the Ryzen stock cooler and already have a Corsair rx650 from my current tree trunk. Looking forward to building!
