my spec(in my sig) is below, i got 3 choices of components to upgrade, with a sort of £150ish budget.

CPU (maybe a bulldozer cpu at 4.0ghz or more)

G-card (would like nvidia but not certain this motherboard would take it), was thinking i need a faster one thats 2gb.

Ram 8gb would be sweet for general pc performance as im 64 bit.

my main games are of the total war series (Shogun 2 , empire etc) i get a lot of fps lag in Empire Darth mod yet another pc i played on with 4.4ghz cpu and 8gb its crazy smooth max settings.

my pc is a tad unstable every now and then cpu wise, as ive overclocked from 2.8ghz to 3.6ghz , ideally i wanted it 4ghz but this motherboard i dont think can handle it being any more OC'd. and my ram isnt anywhere near its intended 1600mhz, more like 1300mhz in bios.

I cant see a graphics card listed in your sig, so are you using the motherboards onboard GFX?

If so, then a GFX upgrade will make a massive difference.

Your motherboard will take either Nvidia or ATI cards.

Agree with stulid. If you are only using onboard gfx, then it would obviously be the weakest link. With that say, the Phenom II CPU would not be fast enough to deliver very satisfying performance for Shogun 2...you'd need something like a Intel SandyBrigade or IvyBridge i5 overclocked for that. See the CPU performance comparison for Shogun 2 below:

You CPU would still be capable in most single player FPS, driving games etc, but specifically for Total War series or online games, it's well-worth considering investing in a faster (Intel) CPU.

And most importantly...don't bother with Bulldozer! Gaming performance it is WORSE...yes you read it right...WORSE than Phenom II. Your 1055T at 3.6GHz would be as fast as a FX8150 at around 4.2-4.4GHz for gaming. That's how bad the IPC of Bulldozer is!

sorry guys, my g-card is a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-X 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

edit: and what was wrong with my sig? it was just text, not far off from Marine-RX179's in terms of size.

i like!, i will need to find out if nvidia will go with this motherboard, if it does, sold! :-)

AMD Six Core 3.6ghz(OC'd from 2.8ghz)
4gb ram 1600mhz(but around 1300 in bios)
24" BenQ Monitor

some of the spec top of my head.

I will more than likely go back to Intel with my future pc build.

From what I remember from your sig, you had a Gigabyte 880G board, that Nvidia card will work fine.

Going back to your sig, you are allowed 4 lines of normal or small text.
