hey guys. recently, and i mean around 3 weeks ago, i renewed my contract with o2 and didnt realise about the release date of the iphone 3g being so close. so my question is, is my only option if i want one of these to buy one of the bay for an extortionate price. any other ways i can get one through o2, i.e paying a reasonable price etc just for the phone?

You are past your 14 days to change your mind so unless your phone is faulty (within the first 28 days) they won't replace the phone. Basically, O2 won't do anything about it. Your only option is, as above, get the new iPhone on Pay & Go and maybe recoup some of the cost by selling your new handset.

thanks guys. didnt think about payg. £370 is a lot, but the handset i got with the contract renewal is the samsung tocco. these are going for around £250-£300 brand new so should be able to get atleast £200 for my used one. May not seem as bad sending that much on the iphone after that

What are your thoughts on the new iphone? Can't decide wether its worth the money. The rubbishey camera really is my main problem with it

Well, they put it onto their site by accident, then removed it about half an hour later.

I highly doubt they would put the wrong prices up.

yeah i did see that but i want them to put it up officially this time so we can all be sure.

According to that then existing O2 not just existing iPhone users should be able to upgrade.

The best I can see however is terminating the existing contract early and swapping to a new 18 month iPhone contract.

As an existing iPhone customer I will be able to do this and just pay the £99 for the new iPhone3G.

I imagine that possibly do a similar thing for existing O2 non-iPhone as well.

They managed to put the whole page up by accident, i say the chance of them putting the wrong price up is just as high. :p
