Yes I can recommend the Nostromo. The Razor software isn't great but the basic functionality of the unit is a perfect replacement for a keyboard. I have used one for years and had hope the one that Logitech brought out might have been a nice upgrade. Unfortunately, when I played around with one in the shop, its ergonomic design wasn't anywhere near as comfortable as the Nostromo.
I use it on Win7 64bit with no issues. One thing to remember is that once you have programmed different keybinds/macros in, to apply the changes so that it uploads them to the unit.
