so how useless is wep?

what i would like to know is how many people here running wep networks have been compromised by hackers?

i've had a quick google and it seems wep is breakable easily enough if you have a few hours to spare but is it really that common an occurance?

i'm getting a router next week which supports wpa/wpa2 but unfortunately my wireless card only supports wep. do i really have to fork out for something better.....

Few hours....well it took about 15 mintues to crack the company next doors wireless network

Im using WEP at the moment on my router...Dunno why i don't use WPA...Maybe i should?

I know that if i picked up a WEP network i'd be itching to try and crack the key just because I can. How much do you really trust your neighbours?
