Said goodbye to the Wii and Hello to the 360 Premium!

Really excited, haven't fired up the 360 yet as I'm at work but it's sat next to me right now. I got it on a special deal with Too Human and Bought Soul Calibur 4 separately. At the moment I fully intend on selling Too Human on the bay to cover the costs of the copy of GTA4 I just got off MM.

So this is my formal entry into Consoles as a 360 owner :D

Welcome aboard!

Get yourself onto Xbox Live, a brave new world awaits!*

*this world may or may not include a large amount of brain dead teenagers screaming abuse down their headsets

yay!

Feeling nice and welcome.

Is there much difference using component cables instead of HDMI? I intend on picking up an HDMI cable at some stage, just don't have one yet.

Another question, do I have to charge up the wireless controller before I can use it? Does it take AA batteries or something?

[Troll]PS3 is better than 360..[/Troll]

Ok seriously, I prefer PS3 :p

Well good for you, the PS3 has many things going for it, but that's a discussion for another thread :)

It takes 2 AA batts.

You can buy a charge kit which comes with a lead (usb which connects to console) and a rechargable batt pack which is around £10-15 and is worth every penny.

oh, and theres a lot of difference between hdmi and comp.. make sure u get hdmi asap! :D

Welcome.

I use rechargable AA's (uniross 2700's) and they're fine. You'll get a set of normal batteries you can use to start with in the box so don't worry straight away.
I don't think there's really that much difference between Component and HDMI re. picture quality. I use do use HDMI though as it allows DVDs to be upscaled (Component doesn't due to a DVD consortium ruling).

I'm actually loving Too Human so give it a go before you sell it on. I'm a funny sort though who loved Two Worlds so don't shout if you hate it.

The difference between HDMI and component depends on your TV really. I've got a 32 inch Samsung HDTV (720p) and a 46 inch Sharp Aquos (1080p) and I have to say that I can't tell a lot of difference between HDMI and component on either.

I have a European 360 with HDMI hooked up via HDMI and running in 1080p and also an American 360 which is an older model so is hooked up via component and running in 720p as my TV won't do 1080p over component. Despite the resolution difference, there isn't really any difference worth noting if I have both consoles on and flick between the two. Of course the resolution alone making no difference is logical as virtually all 360 games are native 720p and would only be upscaled anyway.

game recommendation from me - Mass Effect, just started it when my Xbox RROD'd - now playing it on my new Elite, cracking game!

Really enjoying this 360 lark so far. Me and the other half have been playing Soul Calibur 4 for ages.

Might seem like a small thing but I was dead impressed how I could download the Force Unleashed demo while playing Soul Calibur. I might just have to pre-order force unleashed now :D

Well I've already played Mass Effect through on PC, so I think I'll hangon till I can get it for like £5 on 360.

Pick Hitman Blood Money up for £5 somewhere second hand.

My favourite Xbox game :)

I really enjoyed the on PC , so for the sake of a fiver I might hunt it out.
