So i bought a dslr...

If anyone saw my earlier thread, you will know that i bought a sony alpha a100 dslr camera. And that i had little photgraphy knowledge! If you didnt, you do now.

Below is one of the images that i took while doing what everyone said which was go out and take pictures!

It was on auto mode, using the lens that came with it (not actually sure what it is, ill find out), no editing in photoshop other than the border and the text.

Any thoughts?

Seems a little dark to me (though this isn't my usual monitor so it isn't calibrated brilliantly i shouldn't think) and ever so slightly out of focus or soft.

edit - though looking again it seems you might have focussed on the nose, which imo doesn't look as good as had you focussed on the eyes

if it was shot in raw mode you could make adjustments to brighten it up a little

looks fine here, the tones on the dogs fur look pretty much spot on.

Edit: actually autolevels and quick sharpen does bring it out a bit
