So I got bored tonight and decided to have a go at Sushi

As the title states really, fancied making something different so I popped in to tesco on the way home and bought some bits to make California Rolls, I know its not very authentic but I didn't want to buy expensive fish etc and mess it up, heres the results:

Norimaki

I made the Uramaki first but wish I hadn't as it was quite tricky, as you can probably tell I didn't roll it quite tight enough either. Very pleased with the Norimaki it came out tight and only took a minute or to do.

Ingredients:
2 Sheets of Nori
Hand full of Crab Sticks
1 Cucumber
1 Cup of sushi rice
Wasabi

Right... So here is tonights effort:

Spicy chicken Katsu Uramaki!

This was using the same rice as yesterday however its been in the fridge overnight so it had dried out ever so slightly making it bind better. I think my failing last night was too much sushi vinegar and not squeezing tight enough on the sushi mat. I think all in all considering this is my 3rd ever roll its come out alright, just have to perfect cutting it up into equal thicknesses.
