So I have a Q6600 now...

Need more info. ;) What do you do with your current rig? What games do you play? Are you struggling with anything? Do you do any heavy image/video editing/encoding?

Think I'll keep the Q6600 for now.

BTW, I don't do much gaming any more since I got a PS3, just odd FPS now and again. I mainly extract RAR files, watch HD stuff and run intensive scripts on greasemonkey for firefox.
 
Without more about your system specs and uses its hard to say but it could be a difference that will change the way you use your pc! Im serious and the prices are really affordable for how much of a jump the new i5 can be, look into sata problems and you should be fine :)

Well it's as per my sig now, I use it for MW2, BFBC2 (not often), the F1 game, Black Ops, extracting RAR files (10GB plus) and day to day browsing. As mentions I use some scripts in greasemonkey that have the CPU at around 30%.
