Hi,
I bought an Xbox 360 elite the other week, with GTA4. Obviously it is a games console, however can it do anything else? Play films perhaps via the LAN, exciting this like this?
Thanks :)
Jon

Yes, it can play films via the LAN with the right software on the PC.

Or play divx/xvid directly from DVD-R or USB memory sticks etc...

i'm impressed with the media centre as I DL a lot with the BBC iPlayer and can now watch everything on my TV via my xbox with out having to mess around. quality isn't brilliant but fine for general use.

i hear it you train it well enough and provide much love they can jump over fences. However i have not tried this with mine. :p

They integrated MSN into the online a while back so you can login to it whilst playing games on live. Not the most practical feature unless you have the chat pad thing or a keyboard hooked up. You might be able to dry your hair with the fans at the back too.

I just find it hard to have decent conversation. It could be that I just prefer the convenience of the PC, as I've always had my PC and Xbox within arms reach of each other.

I've got a chat pad, but I never login to MSN on the Xbox, maybe it's just personal preference.

It's the slow UI that annoys me when using MSN on the 360.

Same, I find it useful for messaging, entering CD information when ripping, and for in game stuff (naming pinatas, typing web addresses in GTA4 that sort of stuff)

Yep, exactly what I use it for. I used to just use a USB keyboard, as anythings better than entering stuff with a joypad, but I only bought the chatpad as I was desperately in need of a new headset, and any other kind seemed impossible to get hold of at the time.

It's a pretty well formed and easy to use keyboard. I just find that an MSN client was an after thought for the console, and not done that well tbh.
