I'll start by admitting the Wii never really interested me until recently, seeing the likes of Wii Play and Wario Ware though raised an eyebrow...Here was a type of game that doesnt exist on 360 (yet?) and thus filling a void....Usually if i have family or friends round, when the 360 is asked to be put on by someone you can always bet others ain't gonna like it because their forced to watch someone playing....With the Wii however, you may be forced to watch but you can watch them acting like tools as they do it and vice versa, which = fun :D

At the Xmas family party my eldest sister put on Singstar 80's for PS2, not once did i sing, mainly because i couldn't move from laughing at everyone else singing......Moments like that you don't get from the 360.....So i'm hoping the Wii can add some more fun to house parties.....I'm sure it will ;)

It's still in it's box as you see, can't set it up till later as i have an engineer coming to look at the telly behind it soon :o

Wii Play arrives tomorrow, will pick up Wario Ware and Zelda next week no doubt.

How much of a difference would i see from the Component cable?

you could set it up and have some two player fun :D

Nice one. I really do think that the Wii complements the 360 (or PS3) very nicely. Like you say, it's got the sort of games you don't really find on the other consoles.

If you enjoy the party games where everyone can get involved then you should consider getting Donkey Konga for the Gamecube, as it's compatible with the Wii. In case you've not seen it before, it comes with a set of bongo drums that you use as a controller, and the idea is to play the drums and clap along (via in-built mic) to loads of songs such as Queen, Blink 182, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, etc... :)

As for the question on component cables, not used one myself as I've only got an old SD TV, but I believe it makes a big difference from what others have said.

I'll read around around AVForums then if it's the model of telly you see the difference , i have a Panny 42" PX60 for anyone who may have one and can share info :D

Nice one Kenny!

Your gonna enjoy it!

The component makes it looks a million time better than the composite, you will plum it up and be a bit surprised how bad it looks through composite!

If you can run into town now and pick up a component so it doesnt taint your thoughts! lol.

Hope you have fun!

Josh

Too late Josh i've hooked it up via the composite but i have to say i think it looks pretty good!....I will nab a component cable soon enough though :D

First impressions are all good, the "Dashboard" is excellent....Silly little things like the Weather Channel make me smile....My News Channel however keeps telling me i need an Update, it then tries to Update, tells my me i'm already up to date and then round the in circle we go!.....So i havent seen that yet....The controls were easier to get use to than i thought and my arms were knackered after 30 mins of various Wii Sports events :( :o

On the whole, excellent little piece of kit so far!.....Will need to purchase Bomberman from the Shop bit thing.....Nearly said Marketplace there, damn you 360! :D

The News Channel isn't there yet, so you won't be able to get it until it is released by Nintendo.

I've got Bomberman; certainly not the best of the series, but it's a decent version. Feels a little slow compared to the DS version. You'll soon adjust to the rigours of a Wii Sports session - my arm was killing the whole weekend I had it, then you realise how best to play (not like a maniac...)

Cool!

Havnt bought anything from the Virtual Console yet (think its called that?) may have to!

Wii bowling in the training section is excellent! Really addictive!

The best game so far imo is Wario Ware, so addictive and satisfying its unreal!

Also remember to set it to HDTV when you get the component cable!

Happy Gaming!

That was what I thought when I first got it. It was fine for Wii Sports, that is until I play Zelda. It was hurting my eyes after a while! I thought it may have to do with my tv being old (18 years old!) but I have just received Wii RGB cable, it is much better for playing Zelda, much sharper! The difference is clearly visible in Wii menu and games including sports as well.

Don't play like a prude though, that's boring!

Mine came today, been playing Play, Sports and Warioware all day. The only problem I'm finding is that the curser can be a bit skittish. It might be down to the top of my TV not being flat and the sensor bar not pointing in the right direction, though I'm not sure.

Anyone else?
