got both games and just cant seem to get the hang of them after gaming on a pc for so long its just too dam hard to move, shoot, aim with a controller. Will i ever get the hang of it?

killzone 2 good graphics but multiplayer is getting tired with every map dark/dull
resistance 2 has better mp i think but still cant shoot ****

what am i doing wrong ?

Keep trying; I found when switching over from the PC that inverting the y-axis on the right stick worked wonders (should be in a menu somewhere).

you have 2 games at the opposite end of the control spectrum.

killzone 2 is awesome but it takes long to get into the groove.

resistance 2 didnt live up to its hype and doesnt have such a good online presence now but rumoured DLC to be released shortly should help.

neither feature kitty griffons. -1

Just give it time :)

I was a die hard hater of joypads for FPS games before I got lazy and went for console gaming, but now I’m just as comfortable with a pad, as I am with a mouse. A week long sesh on GRAW sorted me out ;)

Scort.

Problem is that both games control differently, swapping between games wont help you to get used to using a game pad for FPS. Stick with one till youre comfortable with the controls then switch, most FPS control like res 2 so perhaps get used to that first. Another thing that may help is let the autoaim in res 2 help you, dont try an line up the perfect shot as 9/10 when you have a bead on the player it will hit dont try and fine tune it like you have to with a mouse.

LabR@t, same experience for me as a casual offline gamer on PC. I got roped into, ok, nudged towards, buying a PS3 in November to play work colleagues. I'd been loaned COD4 and I wasn't great. A frustrating thing to be fighting a controller instead of the enemy. I ended up buying a PS3 Predator from Germany a month ago to sort out my miserable FPS gaming skills with a gamepad. Not cheap but keeps me happy now.

I bought my first FPS for the PS3 about 3 weeks ago and played right through Battlefield Bad Company single player. Really enjoyed it on hard level. I even risked going online a couple of times as well but it'll take time to learn maps and improve weapons despite using the mouse & keyboard. More to games than the device you use. ;) Was getting slaughtered but I can at least compete now whereas with a gamepad I'd give up in seconds after staring at the sky or my feet and emptying clips everywhere but the target!

Kids a third of my age will spend far more time playing games and learning the ins & outs to beat oldies like me with their gamepads so I don't see that I have much advantage. Maybe in the long run I might but doubt I'll invest that much time despite the outlay for the gadget.

Thing is, the lads at work wanted me on COD4 as well and I still haven't bought/hired it. I don't see the fun in chasing around endlessly in small maps. Although strangely NHL 09 is very, very good. :p

Check your pads sensitivity levels aswell- it might help.
I found that when i first started console gaming it would zoom all over the place so i lowered the sensitivity and learned not to hammer the sticks around so much! after a while i gradually increased the settings and have become quite efficient now (well- compared to some maybe!)

getting the hang now , but I am finding R2 mp is a lot more fun, shame really as i like the look of killzone2

but i have just bought X3-terran conflict for the pc so thats taking all my time up

It wasn't until I had Killzone 2 that I really decided to give Resistance 2 a go (I had it since it's release) and am I the only one who thinks it's just a cartoony version of Killzone?

Although with Killzone coming after Resistance maybe it's a case that Killzone is just a serious version of Resistance :p

Either way Resistance 2 sucks and to think that I paid a premium to get the imported Special Edition :(

I enjoy both games, Resistance is more an arcadey enjoyable shooter, whereas KZ2 is a more serious type of FPS.
It depends on my mood which game I play.
