So I just ordered a Q9550, what should I aim for?

This week only + impusle buy = new CPU for me

I currently have an E6300 on an IP35 pro, which has been rock solid at 3.2ghz since day one, it's been a cracking little CPU. I use a Scythe Infinity cooler.

What sort of O/C can I expect with the Q9550? Around 3.6?

With some care you'll probably hit 4ghz. I'm yet to get that out of my one, but will have another go at it shortly.

If its the E0 stepping there are a few reports of them running at 3.6ish while undervolted, amazing chips

I doubt think there is much in it if your Q6600 is overclocked.

OK, cpu is here, and it's an E0

Flashed my IP35 pro with the latest BIOS, and went straight to 3.8ghz (450*8.5) at stock voltage.. Booted to windows, idleing at 35c. Prime crashed after a couple of seconds

So I bumped v-core up to 1.32v and am stress testing as I type this, currently 30 mins in and stable, temps are 55,52,59,50
