Bit of a story for you all. Having just bought a LG 650F 34 inch 1440p/144hz monitor last year, ive gamed on it and its been nice. However I saw that the Samsung 55inch Q70R does full HDR and Freesynch and 120hz @ 1440p.

So i hooked up my PC which has a Ryzen 3600 and Red Devil 5700XT to my current tv which is a Samsung KS7000 to try it out. Its not as good as the Q70R obviously and i have only tried games @ 1440p/60hz but Forza for instance looks incredible and more importantly plays very well indeed and this with HDR on as does Final fantasy XV. Now im going to pickup the new Xbox series X when it comes out and would also like to use a higher refresh rate on my Xbox X. So my question is should I buy the Samsung Q70R id be looking at the 55 inch version. Ive read good things about it.

To sum up, id use the tv for pc and console gaming. Another thing is its just so nice lying on my bed gaming and not sitting on a chair at my desk lol. The tv would be at end of my bed wall mounted. Hope all this rambling makes some sense. :)

Well I have just bit the bullet and ordered the TV lol. Got it for £799.99 Should be good on Xbox and PC, So im excited. Just waiting for them to email me when its in stock and can be delivered. :D

Maybes true, but it does look very nice in Forza for sure and thats @ 1440p and my native res is 2160p on the KS7000. I cant see the new Xbox Series X doing 60fps in 4K but At least I will have Freesync available on the Q70R.

Let me know how you get on with Freesync. I’ve got a Q85R on which I play most games at 1440@120hz. Looks absolutely amazing. I currently have a 1070Ti so can’t use Freesync and have been debating with myself whether to get a 5700XT.

I will do no problems. I have had 3 quality monitors for the PC since last year, A 4k samsung curved an ips 1440p @ 144hz and now the LG and all just dont do it for me. I think PC monitors are over rated. Im going Qled next.

If you do, and are doing so soon, then I recommend a minimum of a Q80. The 2020 models are disappointing but it’s a great time to pick of a 2019 model.

I have nothing but praise for LG Screen TECH! Its miles a head of the other companies , Just picked up an old 27" LGUL600 4k the weekend for £250 and its the first screen I have owned with NO Light bleed in the corners at all , Totally blown away with the quality from LG , Its safe to say they have a NEW fan and ill 100% be buying from them on my next purchase.
Really nice colours out the box and G/Sync works fantastic on these Freesync monitors as well so thats a bonus.

I went from using a 55" 4K tv @ a custom ultrawide 1440p res for gaming and the full 4k for movies etc, to the samsung super ultrawide 49" 120hz 1440p moniter, and to be honest I wish I'd gone for one of those samsung tv's your on about that can do 120hz @ 1440p , whilst the 49" monitor is great (except for black bars on sideswhen watching movies), I think the TV would have been just as good, more versatile, and easier to drive for my 1080TI

It's arriving this Sunday so I will let everyone know. I'm pretty excited lol. Only thing is my girlfriend is at work that day so won't be able to put it on my wall bracket until I get some help. Can't wait. :D

I would love the LG c9 but I couldn't justify the price. Plus if be scared of burn in. So today's the day for my Samsung QR70. Let's see if it really is the gaming beast it's claimed to be.

Isn’t there a setting within the geforce display setting that allows geforce cards to work with freesync?

I went from a 1440p korean > 40" 4k tv > 1440p 144hz monitor myself.
I do miss the size of my old tv as a gaming screen as it was just so immersive and cinematic.

Looking towards getting the lg 48" OLED (CX?) whenever they release it.

So Ive got the Tv and I have it all working now as intended. Was initially disappointed at first because i couldn't for the life of me get it to display the 120hz option in windows @ 1440p, until i found a guys post on Reddit. Now its Wow. Games are flying im using freesync and game mode. Its a cracking display for certain. HDR in windows is probably not worth enabling as i hear its not as good as on console. So so far Ive got my Xbox one X and my PC running at 1440 @ 120hz. looking and playing great. And if your thinking it wont look good as its not the native 4K res then id say your dead wrong. Do some more tweaking over the next few days but I do recommend it.
