Where do you start? I know some companies ask for goods in transit insurance which is expensive and some provide it with the job but that's as far as I got last time I enquired

Anyone here done couriering or know more???

The answer to the question "so I want to be a motorcycle courier" is.....

No you don't.

Trust me.

haha why not,ive always thought about it,yes the bad weather sucks but i ride all year round anyway, why not get paid to ride

Its not great money, its incredibly dangerous, your health suffers and you very quickly get put off riding.

I used to cover for our same day lads back in the early 90s if they were off or we had a job we couldn't turn down, I thought it was great... To start with then I grew to loathe I with a passion.

Can you elaborate on the health suffering side? When you say incredibly dangerous I presume you mean as a city courier?

I'm not planning a career change, just interested :)

I can't help you much but all I would say is I started doing my hobby as a job 6 years ago, I still do the same job but I don't like my hobby any more :)

Its like any risk, you expose yourself to it more you stand a higher chance of falling foul of it.

As for your health suffering, I dont mean you end up in hospital, you just suffer constant sore throats, aching joints, back ache etc etc

Its not the same as doing a couple of days blast on holiday or going on a tour, its 5 days a week, 10 or 12 hours a day (to earn a living) and it just wears you down.
