I've currently got an Orange livebox (non wireless) and my PS3.

Now, the Livebox has an open slot on the side of it, i'm guessing for a wirelss card to be inserted.

If i bought a wireless card for the livebox and plugged it in, would that then recieve the signals from the PS3, so i can play online?

Cheers,

Phil :)

I wouldn't expect it to work - IIRC the slot on the side is a PCMCIA slot that's intended for something else.

Yeah, and i'm wanting to buy a PCMCIA card (wireless) to recieve signals from the PS3, hence connecting me wirelessly...

Ah, just done a bit of "homework" and found this on Orange website...

PCMCIA Card Bus slot
This is the long thin slot next to the USB "B" port. This is not currently in use. Orange claim that they will be using it as an expansion slot so the Livebox can support future services. It does appear that the port is active because, if a CAM card (used to allow certain Freeview boxes to support TopUpTV cards) is connected before the Livebox is booted up, it causes the @ and TEL lights to appear.

Although for the price of some of those you could probably pick up a decent Netgear ADSL router that would probably be better than the Livebox and have the wireless built in.

I agree, get rid of the live box and get a decent Netgear router.

Or another option would be the use of some of the Powerline adapters to get a wired connection to your PS3 if running a bit of Cat5 to it is not possible.

To do this you purchase two adapters, one goes next to your live box and connects to that, the other goes with the PS3 and connects to the ethernet port on the back of it.

I use this setup to get an interweb connection to my 360 and PS3 and it works perfectly well, I have a pair of the 200Mbit rated Solwise adapters and get about 45Mbit/sec of real wold performance out of them - more than enough for playing online and streaming media to both consoles.
