So I won an iPad 2. Do I keep it?

Definitely selling this heap of restriction once we've completed our annual exhibitions in October.

Only two reasons really:
- No Flash
- No direct memory access

I just had to Google how to put a PDF on the thing (which is ridiculous that I had to Google that in the first place) and the only options seem to be to email it to yourself (which isn't useful when you have hundreds of such items) and import all of that to iTunes and sync it from there. Only trouble is my PDFs etc are on my work computer and I can only sync with one iTunes which means it's just eradicated all the music I had sync'd from my home laptop. Useless.

Why the hell can't it just pop up as a memory card?!

For now you could use Dropbox to transfer PDFs? That might be easier.

+1 for dropbox (and evernote). Keeps most of my files synchronised between PC, iphone and ipad.

These apps integrate nicely with iOS so when viewing a pdf in safari/mail, you can save to... and choose dropbox, etc.

I hate syncing with iTunes, so apart from the initial set-up sync, dropbox avoids more file syncs. iOS 5 should circumvent more iTunes syncs (I really do hate iTunes!). I also bought a camera kit (really the iPad should have a USB/SD slot built in but hey ho) so I can copy pictures directly to the iPad. Again avoiding iTunes.

If you're interested in podcasts (I'm not) podcaster can download and subscribe without the need for iTunes.

And get flipboard.

:D

EDIT: Sorry no idea why I dragged up an old thread. I think I got carried away with the search function. probably you've sold the iPad by now?
