Back with a Vengeance.
as the title suggests, would you buy a car from someone who wrote an advert like this?
now i'm not a grammar snog but, c'mon, doesn't this sound like it's a teeny weeny bit dodgy?

nissan pulsar gtir, its running 400bhp just ad a engine rebuild costing 5700 at A.P motors in plymouth reciepts to prove this. the car as only dne 1000 miles since rebuild??In totally ive got ova 20 grand in reciepts just 4 the engine alone? its a ex norris design car so al the works bin dne proper. The car itself is in really *** condition?? phone me for full spec on car ok.......

for some reason the text filter in here has starred out the word "G U D".

your opinions?

Not sure. The level of written English is going down the pan generally, and has been since the massive increase in texting. Might not be indicative of the car. Even morons can own decent cars.

Call me a snob or old-fashioned perhaps, but there's not a hope in hell would I buy a car from an advert like that.

is he asking about the car or selling the car  :p

Absolutely hate people that speak/write like that. I'd be sure to call him and make sure everything is nice and cushty. On the strength of the advert alone however, not a chance!

I've got plenty of mates who cant spell and/or use grammar. Doesn't mean they aren't decent, honest blokes.

However, yes, i'd be on my guard. But as long as the paperwork corroborated what he said, the test drive was ok, and the car checked out - i dont see why not. You could even ring up Norris Designs and see if they corroborate the story.

T'would be silly to not buy from someone solely because they cant spell as well as you

Soon enough Microsoft Word will have a new English variant on its spell checker list.... "English (Txt Sp34k)" :)

that's pretty much what's ringing around in my head.
i'd find it hard to believe someone who knows what they're doing and would not only care for the car the way it should be, but modify it properly too, could type like that....even if that's the way they normally would.

if you went to court you'd go for suited and booted, even if you never do anywhere else simply because you're trying to make a good impression. a seller who writes like that must know how potential buyers are going to perceive his ad surely?

innit?

Two reasons not to buy the car:
1) The advert sounds like it was written by a knuckle dragging, semi-literate inbred.
2) The reputation of the garage where the engine rebuild was carried out. Having met the owners son who does a lot of work...well lets just say I wouldn't trust him to change the oil on a £50 banger let alone safely extract more power from a turbocharged engine.

That would defeat the object, it is meant to change enough so normal people can't decipher it. :p

I think you've missed the point here, after all - "al the works bin dne proper" :p

that's one of the things i like about you.
you tend to hold back your true feelings rather than tell us what you really think.

:p

Besides the dreadful advert, what person would ever consider buying a car that has 'just' had an engine rebuild or a new engine??

To me it just screams:

"I had the engine rebuilt but somethings gone seriously boobs up and i want to get rid quick because it will cost far too much to fix it!"

Is it me or is the rev counter needler broken :p
