So i'm thinking of upgrading to a 3850 pro (from a 7900gt) and overclocking the crap out of it. Seems like a cheap way to play crysis on 1280@medium-high settings, and providing a stop gap till the next gens hit..

So wondering if anyones got any advice on clocking and voltmodding them really. Going to be using a Vf-1000cu for cooling. I've been reading there's a pencil mod for the core and mem - has anyone got a decent guide for this?

Cheers.

Go to XtremeSystems, and it has all you need to know about volt modding the 3850 :)

Also, Gurusan on this forum has already performed the pencil volt mod. You will need a digital multimeter to be safe though :)

thats a review of 3850 and 3870 together, should give you a good comparison :). The 512mb score pretty much equal in 3dmark 05/06, stalker and Crysis. Tbf the 256mb aint far behind.....me likes 3850's :D
