So i'm thinking of upgrading to a 3850 pro (from a 7900gt) and overclocking the crap out of it. Seems like a cheap way to play crysis on 1280@medium-high settings, and providing a stop gap till the next gens hit..

So wondering if anyones got any advice on clocking and voltmodding them really. Going to be using a Vf-1000cu for cooling. I've been reading there's a pencil mod for the core and mem - has anyone got a decent guide for this?

Go to XtremeSystems, and it has all you need to know about volt modding the 3850

Also, Gurusan on this forum has already performed the pencil volt mod. You will need a digital multimeter to be safe though

thats a review of 3850 and 3870 together, should give you a good comparison . The 512mb score pretty much equal in 3dmark 05/06, stalker and Crysis. Tbf the 256mb aint far behind.....me likes 3850's
