Seriously,

I may grow to love this game, and admitedly ive only played 40 mins but i may aswel be playing Oblivion with a skirt on. I mean seriously, the same graphics, the same appauling animation, the same dreadful interface - only addons sorted that out.

Its funny really because despite the above, i loved Oblivion, however i just wasnt expecting a clone of oblivion to be Fallout 3 - and that is what it is. Dont pretend it isnt, despite the reviews. It is simply Oblivion in a different time period.

And as i said, it does not mean its gonna be crap, im just dissapointed thats all.

Ill get stuck in however and hopefully enjoy it as much as oblivion.

I was also disappointed when I first played the game a few weeks ago, seeing the exact same animations and whatnot from Oblivion.

It's still an enjoyable game in it's own right though.

its the same dev team of course, but the gameplay is significantly different and the atmosphere couldnt be more different lol.

ENJOY IT =p

Fallout 3 and Oblivion are both great games, and while they both have the same mechanics they are both very different. Its like saying Tales of Vesperia is a Phantasy Star clone, it may have very similar mechanics but it is a different game.

Jcb33.

Yep, it uses the same type of engine and mechanics (who'd spend years developing an engine for a game and then not use it more than once?) but both games are great, both are very different and streets ahead of most other RPGs around at the moment.

If you don't like it, don't play it, but I bet most people who've played it all the way through felt they got their money's worth...

It's not Oblivion with Guns, Oblivion has to be one of the worst games I've ever played, Cant stand playing it. However Fallout 3 has to be one of the best games I've ever played.

Couldn't disagree more with your post.

I also disagree. Oblivion and Fallout 3 do have similarities due to using the same engine, visuals and animations for instance. The similarities stop there though, and Fallout 3 is a superior game in every way in my opinion. While I did enjoy Oblivion, it frustrated me endlessly with it's idiotic levelling system and hideously imbalanced combat and skill system. Fallout 3 on the other hand is easily on my list of all time favourite games.

Fall out 3 = No Life!

I was hooked from the get go as it is so immersive. its truly a phenomonal game!

Fallout ironed out a lot of the gameplay issues that Oblivion had like the leveling system mentioned.

Tbh I loved and still love Fallout, but can't seem to get along with Oblivion. Just feels so wrong to play with swords, tons better with guns imo.
