I took my Rover 214 in over christmas to get the head gasket replaced and skimmed plus a few other jobs like cam belt change in the end cost a fair few hundred quid!

When talking about the work to them i wanted it all fixed, the leak which caused the HGF and they mentioned they would check the inlet manifold.

Around a month later i noticed that all the antifreeze in my expansion tank had gone again so i took it back to the garage and they informed me the inlet manifold had maybe melted when the engine overheated and so antifreeze was slowly dripping out.

The problem is i spent hundreds of pounds getting it fixed and im sure they said they would fix the leak, but now there telling me that it will cost even more money! The labour rate there is £35p/h + VAT so i assumed they would do a good job, this was a wery wrong assumption.

Who in there right mind would get the HG fixed and not a major leak?

Do i have any rights to get this sorted?

hmm have you checked the oil etc for contamination?
Its possible, they havent even fixed the original problem, let alone any related problems...

Yea ive checked it mate. The oil looks good, the heaters work fine... after a while and the car has all its power.

Apparently its dripping from this manifold and theres a trail of rust.

They said they would initial.

When questioned yesturday they said that the pressure test revealed it would not need changing.

So there now saying they havent, buts its leaking.
