Well finally started this...had to wait for my Mass Effect addiction to wane....

Couple of questions which im sure you guys know.

Uhh what is the score with those weird adverts that come on before MGS4 ?

Also the fried egg scene... bizarre much?

But wait i dont want to know the answer...just tell me yes it will all make sense in the end. :D

Controls are a tiny tiny bit easier from (mgs2 - last one i played) But still tricky e.g. it would be nice if you could set the view to automatically set the view back to centre whilst moving instead of always having to using the right analogue stick. Reason why is because when you are trying to escape you constantly need to be adjusting the view to see where you are going.

Very impressed with the graphics so far. Im playing it on Solid Normal Mode. Doesnt seem too hard though getting ppl in cqc seems a little bit more tricky than in mgs2 for some reason.

Best thing so far is the sound though - Awesomeness battlefield sounds coming from all around and i havent heard the great MGS signature tune yet (hopefully will be an ipod tune to get)

Also how do i get the Metal Gear robot to recharge? It seems to take a really long time to recharge? For the solid eye i would just not use it and a minute later its back up to near full charge yet the Metal gear Mk2 has little or no charge so cant use it?

It will all make sense to you in the end.

The mk2 takes a little longer to recharge, this is rectified by acquiring more 'battery' items - you can find them in the plane during mission briefings with the mk2 you're controlling. Just look around a little and you'll find it.

The batteries simply make your solid eye and mk2 last much longer.

great stuff :D i was so impressed with the opening cutscene of the graveyard/heli scene i video-ed so i can watch it at work :) (fj40 cam)

will post some pics when i get home :D

ohh smt else.... what does pressing L1 do when it flashes onscreen? I know pressing X seems to throw up a flashback image e.g. Naomi etc but pressing L1 didnt seem to do anything?

Did you not notice Naomi breasts after pressing L1?lol Arent the MKII & Solid Eyes batteries linked? So if you put the Solid Eye on after youve used the MKII the batteries wont charge?

ahh ok cheers. What about codec scenes can i change the view in them?

btw was there a way to destroy that APC at the start (not using an RPG7) or just avoid em.

I am finding the radio chatter a little bit annoying because its the same voice and same script (american voice?????) from HQ saying the alert is over/sending reinforcements etc.

I picked this up at the weekend too. Not really played it a great deal yet but my first impressions of the graphics are very good. Playing it on a 92" screen as well :D

SS's may seem a bit dark as I took them at an angle to the screen and it is a high gain screen.

Clutching at straws here but the PMCs all belong to the same mother company so that's probably why :p

the weird adverts at the start of the game are to show what what the world is like in the game's present day with the influence of nanomanchines :)

the controls will seem little clunky at first because there are a lot of actions you can perform. you will find the controls much smoother once you get used to it and they are actually quite customizable.
